• Efficiency and smooth operation of moving parts. The efficiency of the pulleys used is essential for the smooth operation of the moving parts, especially the rope hoist. There is little difference between an efficiency of 80% and 95% at first sight, however in practice I have tested that it is very noticeable. Especially when it comes to the smoothness of operation under load.
• The strength and rigidity of the construction and components. Test how the whole assembly behaves under static and dynamic loads in different exercises.
• The durability of the whole equipment. This depends on a number of conditions. The main ones include the operating temperature range, the materials used, their surface finish, the way and frequency of equipment use, exposure to chemicals, UV radiation, etc.

Safety of the pravilo equipment

Verification of its reliability and safety may be different. Some people verify these criteria only by personal testing and by classical use of the equipment. I recommend to be more demanding. When exercising on Pravilo, various static and dynamic forces are applied to it. Their magnitude depends on many factors, e.g. the height of the pull and the body weight of the practitioner, the method of fixing the elements of the rope system, as well as the dynamics of the exercise, etc. Remember some parts of the equipment when loaded are close to the tightened bow or sling.

It is very appropriate to require a detailed professional static assessment. If the calculation is also verified by practical measurements of the applied forces at critical locations and under various even extreme conditions, this is a big plus. If the manufacturer declares that he uses certified components, require him to provide the certificates.

Price vs. content and quality

Ask the manufacturer for an exact list of the components included in the price. The price for two products can be significantly different. It depends a lot on what exactly it includes. If you need to pay extra for more components, the lower price may not be a good deal. Sometimes the lower price also means lower quality of components used.

Even if you rarely have to disassemble your construction, you will always appreciate if the whole equipment is easy to assemble and operate, quickly and without the need to look at the manual and have two helpers. This ensures you can move it quickly, whether within rooms or over longer distances. The simplicity and versatility will also give you greater variability when using the equipment.
